This book took about four years to come to its fruition, but every step of the process made the journey that much more meaningful. Together Carlos and Lauren Rigau worked with Illustrator AnnMarie Rapach, to bring LaLa and Papa's characters to life.
Each stroke of creativity is epitomized in the sketches, that line by line created the characters, which you too will come to live through and love. If there is any truth you take from this story let it be, that there is no love, like the love of family.
Along with the vision Lauren had sketched out in draft (pictured here), AnnMarie used her creative prowess to convert an idea into a truth. Now timeless colors and images tell the story of a little girl, who looked up to her Papa and his career as a photojournalist, throughout her life.
Teamwork was a vital component of bringing this vision into reality. After meeting through mutual friends, Lauren and AnnMarie knew their kinship would be the magic this story needed. Countless coffee fueled brainstorming sessions, has given us... 'The Adventures of LaLa and her Papa'
